Yesterday,
I worked for 11 hours
On 6 hours of sleep
Roughly 7 hours of face to face classes
With multiple age groups & ability levels
Stomping around busy Osaka city to get to various locations..
And yet,
And at the end of the day,
I was as fresh as a daisy
I could have gone another 5
But…
3-4 years ago, this would have left me EXHAUSTED
So what changed?
And how can you do the same?
First, consider this quote from the Tao Te Ching:
“Between heaven and earth is a space like a bellows;
empty and inexhaustible,
the more it is used, the more it produces.
Hold on to the center.
Man was made to sit quietly and find the truth within.”
But how do you enter that space?
The answer is incredibly simple.
You just have to let go & find the centre..
Let’s say you’re working,
You have your break in 20 mins..
You keep checking the clock
”Just 20 more mins..THEN I can relax”
”Just 10 more mins..”
”I’ll get a nice coffee, have my favourite food…then I’ll be happy”
This way of thinking creates incredible resistance
This way of thinking draw you out of the present
It puts conditions on your contentment
Next time you find yourself checking “how much longer?”
Notice the sense of contraction it creates
How does that contraction feel?
Is it pleasant?
No.
It feels terrible..
And the kicker is this…
It’s all self-created
If you just let go, and flowed through without worrying about time..
Then time flies,
We experienced relaxed joy & presence
We have seemingly unlimited energy
Story time:
Sound familiar?
Probably..
Stop putting conditions on contentment
