Accessing the "I AM" state
There's a simple path to practice..
That can lead to a dramatic evolution of consciousness
An upgrade in perception that results in:
Transmuting "I AM XYZ"
To "I AM"
Here's how to tap in..
In the first picture..
Standard perception is how 95% (?) of people are relating to the world
And as you've experienced..
It's a pretty painful way of operating
You're so seduced by your story..
So sure of your separation..
So wrapped up in the solidity of sensation..
Thoughts and emotions are so close..
That you've taken them to be "you" without question
When a thought arises:
"I forgot to message my friend back"
It so often spirals into a fabricated loop of nonsense..
And endless babbling:
"Why am I so useless - I always end up doing this, what exactly is WRONG with me!?
Don't I care about people, am I a psychopath? I must be, why would anyone ever like me..
Let alone love me"
It's exhausting and a complete waste of your divinely gifted mental energies to engage with these endless narratives the mind concocts

Step 1: Cultivate META COGNITION
AKA
The ability to recognize the content of the mind and body
This is achieved through:
A. Meditation
B. Mindfulness
Unless you're aware of being caught up..
You can't go onto the next phase where all the magic happens:

Step 2: Cultivating a Compassionate Space for Thoughts To Arise & Pass away into
Your aversion to the content of the body mind is exactly what FUELS these thoughts and feelings
Want proof?
Next time you notice you're really angry/frustrated/anxious:
Ask the state to GET STRONGER
"BRING IT ON - JUST HOW ANGRY CAN I GET!?"
Notice how this approach makes the state completely deflate and lose it's sense of solidity
It may even seem absurd as to why you were so caught up before hand..
You may find yourself laughing at the silliness of it all
Where as previously it may have lingered in the mind for hours..
Even days afterwards..
Coloring all your thoughts feelings & perceptions
Here's the skillful way to handle thoughts & feelings:
Instead of getting wrapped up in..
Or adverse to the thoughts/feelings..
Bathe them in a gentle compassionate awareness
Smile upon them in the same way you would a toddler in the midst of a tantrum
Not judging..
Not labeling
Just accepting and giving them space
Eventually the solidity of the state will start to dissolve..
And it will gently liberate itself
Here's the kicker..
When you do this practice..
You may even get a flash of insight as to why they were there in the first place..
> Perhaps you're acting out an old family pattern
> You're weren't adapting to life and it's constant changes..
> Or your sense of self was overly solid
The mere act of observing the voice in our heads points at a profound truth:
We are not the voice itself..
But that which observes it
When Meditation + Mindfulness + Cultivating compassionate awareness around our thoughts is practiced diligently..
You can move from an intellectual understanding of this..
To directly tasting and embodying this new mode of perception
And as the picture below suggests..
We recognize that our thoughts and emotions are now seen as "not self"
No me - Not mine
Still arising..
But mostly not too bothersome
This is a profound upgrade on our experience of life..
And allows us to towards our goals
(Aligned with our highest conception of ourselves)
With an ease and perfection that simply isn't possibly when you identify with the content of the mind
It's worth noting
This is an INITIAL awakening..
And by no means the full picture
It does however operate as a springboard and allow you investigate deeper levels of the fabricated sense of self and reality...
While empowering us to operate as a beacon of light in the darkness so that we may become powerful and loving:

And embody the qualities of our highest selves in day to day life
